Why I don't like LinuxCAD.

While I was researching this article I came across a number of posts to Usenet claiming that SoftwareForge also engaged in email spam. I found them when I was searching Dejanews for posts about LinuxCAD (October 9th, 1998). Dejanews drops older Usenet posts after a certain period of time so they won't be around forever. I have therefore decided to archive them here. I've also taken the liberty to modify the email addresses subtly so that these email addresses will not be harvested by spam-bots. Any human should be able to figure out the real email address.

Ditto. I got email at a work address that they evidently "harvested"
from news from the past, as it is no longer in my .signature.

It was merely annoying when they spammed the newsgroups; that is easy
enough to filter out.

Now that they're doing unsolicited emailing, and no doubt the email will
come in on a daily basis much like the Usenet articles, it is time for
them to be stopped...

I think it would be great if MS would make VB the favoured language for
Palm PC's. Then they'd have a shaky, bloated, slow OS running the
shaky, bloated, slow macro-apps. -- <garyduke # nospam.idirect.com>

I complained to their ISP because of the continued spam, but the
only thing I got back was their autoresponder stating that spaming
is against their use policy and that they will look into it.

But the spam continues! They have *not* done anything against it.
:-(

I didn't even get an acknowledgement. Just silence.

Perhaps the upstream provider?
