Codecon 2006.

[Paddock with cars and tents]

This weekend just past we had Codecon which was organized by Peter Miller.

The attendees included Rob Collins, Andrew Cowie, Andreas Fischer, Scott Finneran, Peter, Silvia Pfeiffer and myself (sorry, no photo).

[Participants]

I was going to write a blog entry about how horrible the weekend was so that we don't get inundated by people wanting to attend the event next year. I decided not to, mainly because it was such great weekend but also because I really don't think I would be able to convince anyone :-).

As you can see from the top photo (taken at about 7am Sunday morning) the venue was gorgeous. Behind the tents and cars was a small tributary of Hawkesbury river.

For me, the highlight of the weekend was Rob and Peter's six hour conversation on the deficiencies of the make program and the autotools.

All in all an absolutely great weekend. Thanks to all attended, a special thanks to Peter for organizing it and a very special thanks to Craige McWhirter and his girlfriend's family who allowed us to camp on their farm.
